BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Cat and Mouse quilt block allows you to "stretch" your quilt block sewing skills. This simple four patch block is designed for stitching individual patches rather than using quick-piecing methods. However, it is an easy block to sew and a simple quilt to make.

The two sample quilt layouts shown below utilize common quilt block settings -- a side by side block layout giving a diagonal look to the eye, and the other quilt uses an on point setting of the blocks along with sashing strips and extra blank blocks for additional colour.
