BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

Two very different looks emerge depending on which quilt layout you might like for your personal heirloom when using the Broken Window quilt block.

The quilt layout featured on the left sets the blocks side by side in a standard arrangement of the blocks. The use of the sashing strips with "cornerstones" to separate the blocks also create a subtle secondary pattern. Can you spot the stars?

The quilt layout illustrated on the right sets the blocks on point alternating with colourful, plain blocks in different colours to create a totally different look. The blank blocks also provide a spot for a lovely quilting design to showcase.
