BLOCKS by SIZE 10.5" Quilt Blocks

A quilt block in a size of 10½ inches is not commonly used, but it is a nice "in-between" size to scale a quilt block when 14" is too big and 7" is too small. As you may have guessed, these quilt blocks fit into the category of seven patch since they are designed on a 7 x 7 grid.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The two sample quilt layouts shown below feature the Boxed Squares quilt block, both in on point settings of the blocks.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left separates the blocks with sashing strips with "cornerstones" to give an added pop of colour. The blank blocks and setting triangles offer a spot to showcase your quilting designs.

The quilt layout on the right adds large corner triangles to each block. Careful colour placement of those larger triangles gives an extra design element to the quilt as well as additional splashes of colour.
