The two sample quilt layouts shown below utilize the directional nature of the block. This offers many different possibilities for your quilt design.

The quilt layout featured on the left uses a standard on point block setting. Several blocks are rotated by 90 degrees to draw the eye in a different direction to create a secondary pattern.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right sets the blocks side by side in groupings of four blocks. The 90 degree rotations of some of the blocks in each group form a circular effect in the resultant design.

There is no end to the creativity you can have in your own quilt, simply by using these same block rotations in different ways.
