The Acanthus quilt block shown below in both of the quilt layouts, uses an on point block setting, with different results.

The quilt layout featured on the left sets each pieced block with a corresponding blank block beside it, to showcase your quilting designs and add a pop of extra colour.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right separates the blocks with sashing strips with "cornerstones" for an added design element. The colour used in the blank blocks and setting triangles gives additional sparks to catch the eye.
