Free Quilt Block Pattern

The Shimmer Star quilt block is another block that teachers of quiltmaking can use in their lesson plans.

This easy design is a simple nine patch block which features an often underused -- at least in my opinion -- patch which quilters refer to as a three quarter square triangle. This unit uses both the half square triangle and the quarter square triangle to use together to form the patch. These units are frequently used to form a pinwheel of sorts.
