Hay's Corner

Free Quilt Block Pattern

The Hay's Corner quilt block is a wonderful choice for a beginner quilter and a perfect choice for teachers of quiltmaking.

This four patch design features only simple shapes -- squares, rectangles and the first pieced unit you will learn -- the half square triangle. The directional nature of this simple block makes for some interesting design layouts in your final quilt -- by using 90 degree rotations of some blocks or groupings of blocks.
