Woven Four Patch
Sample Quilt Layouts
With such an easy quilt block to sew, one would think that the resultant quilt will be boring. Wrong!
The quilt layout shown on the left features a "picket fence" border. This small detail gives the look of woven pointed slats in the various colours and finishes off the quilt edges. This border features one of my favourite patches (and an underused one at that), a patch that quilters often call a three quarter square triangle.
The quilt layout illustrated on the right gives a look of "plaid" (another favourite of mine) with the blocks set on point and separating them with sashing strips.
What can your imagination achieve in your heirloom quilt?
