Two sample quilt layouts for the Navajo quilt block are shown below.

The quilt layout featured on the left sets the blocks on point and separates them with sashing strips and additional blank blocks for extra splashes of colour.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right uses a standard side by side block setting. This is has the added bonus of creating a subtle secondary pattern of overall elongated geometric shapes for a totally different look.
