The two sample quilt layouts shown below both use a diagonal setting of the blocks.

The quilt layout featured on the left alternates the blocks with blank, colourful squares and uses sashing strips in the background colour for further separation.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right also sets the blocks on point with sashing strips. Because there are no plain blocks in this quilt, the blocks side by side create a secondary design of different star blocks as a nice surprise element.
