The County Fair quilt block is generally not for the beginner quilter. However, there are no difficult patches in the block -- just lots of pieces. As a result, this block is perfect to make a larger block, which then results in fewer blocks to make.

These two sample quilts shown below both use a side by side quilt block layout. By switching up the background colour of some of the County Fair quilt blocks, you can achieve a totally different look, as seen in the image on the left. For the quilt shown on the right, I decided to make the centre a different colour than the background for a different take on the block and hence, the final quilt. What will your design look like?
